Africa has long been a place that touches my soul.
The following letter is about a profound healer and peacemaker who travels the world to remind us of our role in bringing peace and giving back to humanity.
I ask that you give generously from your heart.
Mandaza, from Zimbabwe, travels internationally as a peacemaker and healer. In his native land, he is known as a Mhondoro- one who is in constant prayer on behalf of all creation. I have witnessed this beautiful soul act as a "living prayer"- in service to the One Spirit that exists in all things. It is because of this witnessing, and out of my deep respect and love for all he represents, that I am sending this letter to you.
Mandaza supports a large community in Bulawayo, including many children (some of whom are featured in these photos). His country is currently plagued by the absence of food, water, gasoline, and essential medicines. Zimbabwe’s inflation reached 7,000% in July of this year- by far the highest in the world. School fees have become unaffordable for most. As we all know, it is through education where change can be truly effective.
In Mandaza’s words, Zimbabwe has been brought to her knees. Change is needed. These children, some of whom have been orphaned by conditions of poverty and disease, are hungry to learn and deserve a chance. For $7000 a year, five children are guaranteed a year’s education. In the spirit of this season of giving, please consider investing in the future of these young ones.
It is in watching Mandaza as an instrument of Spirit and a messenger for peace and forgiveness that I find myself wanting to "give back" and to create a bridge across the oceans that blesses these children with an education and a future.
